Here is a commission project I completed from the studio this winter, "Indiana Round Barn" 18X24.
A friend who enjoys long bicycle rides in the country took this photo on a summer ride and wanted it captured on canvas.  Thank you RSP for the inspiration and opportunity!

Blog catch up!

Well it has been over a year since I last posted, but I am back and hope to create a steadier stream of postings to this site. In sort of a catch up theme, I am going to post a mass grouping of paintings just to get them up and visible. The plan is to come back and add some more interesting background information on individual paintings. Now that summer is on the way (not that the weather is suggesting that yet here in Wisconsin) plein air painting events will soon be underway. New posts and paintings from those events will be forthcoming.

There are a few paintings yet to be photographed so stop back soon to check them out.

I have these two paintings in the show:

Bradford Beach was painted plein air from the top of the beach house in the very early morning. Snow Fog was inspired by a photograph given to me by my mother.

Stop by for some food, drink and original art!

Schrank Family Farm

Schrank Family Farm

Continuing with the Winter theme, this is the Schrank Family Farm near Big Bend, Wisconsin.
I painted this vintage scene using a favorite photograph I took while visiting.  That is my 1980 Ford truck and the young man playing in the snow is now in his late 20's at least.  Recently he posted an image on facebook that was a little sad, a bad storm had just torn the top of the silo off, I will include that image as well.  You can make out the American Flag near the top.  It seems to me this painting should end up with the Schrank family.
